Web-Urbanist is a blog that i visit very frequently. One that contains a very diverse set of cool and interesting links and stories. If it were a magazine I would have been subscribed. Anyway, today I stumbled across their article on Abondoned places in Russia.
It seems that entire abandoned cities are to be found in the former Soviet Republic. These places are the remains of what used to be a thriving communist economy. The most striking example is the abandones missile silo featured here. However, for the sake of author copywrite and intellectual property, GO TO HIS SITE! for the complete story and all images.

If this is real, on which I have my sincere doubts, then Microsoft influences go down a lot further then I thought. They are even invading education! Now education in itself is already pretty lousy but when we are instructed,… pardon, forced to obey to the big and HOLY IE7…well that’s just some f’ed up sh*t!

I’m glad there are still people out there with a sense of humor at times when it is actually seriously inappropriate. It gives me the ohhohh-laughs. You know, the laugh that says: “I shouldn’t be laughing about this but it is all the more funnier!!!”

If I’m able to take up a little over 4 minutes of your busy day then I would instruct you to watch this video about three graphic designers who recreated the D-Day OMAHA BEACH scene using a shoe-string budget. Some seriously incredible stuff!
